Our Alaska Fishing Trips are Truly Unique
and Very Special.
We base our summer Alaska fishing trips out of Sitka, Alaska which is known as today’s best saltwater fishing area for halibut, salmon, lingcod and bottom fish. Sitka is located on the west coast of Baranoff Island in Alaska within close proximity of productive ocean fishing grounds. The Russians choose this area for Alaska fishing and Sitka as their capital because of the abundant wildlife. Along with Russian history, Sitka also has supported many generations of Alaska commercial fishing.
Our 65 foot custom sport fisher will comfortably take us beyond the Sitka charter fleet and into remote pristine waters that seldom receive sport fishing pressure. This will ensure you the best opportunity to experience constant FISH ON!
During your Alaska fishing trip will target large schools of migrating King and Coho salmon. Using quality gear along with incredible fish expertise, your hook ups on salmon will be often and enjoyed until the last second of the fight. June, July and August are all superb months to catch the mighty King Salmon during your Alaska fishing trips. The average ocean King tips the scales around 20 to 25 pounds. 30 pound Kings are not uncommon. And the 40 pound Kings will test your fish fighting skills and endurance. Hopefully you will be one of the few to set the hook on a 50 or 60 pound trophy King.
During July and August various Coho inundate southeast Alaska and especially the west coast ocean waters near the Pacific Ocean that we will be fishing. These comic Coho’s provide hours of catching enjoyment. You can also keep up to 6 Coho a day which will be processed and blast frozen onboard sealing in every bit of flavor for that fresh fish dinner for months to come.
Another reason fishermen venture to southeast Alaska is to hook into the trophy of a lifetime. Fishermen chasing the “Hippoglossus Stenolipsis” know as the Pacific Halibut, will be pleasantly surprised with Father and Son Charter’s knowledge and ability to find, catch and harvest these magnificent flat fish. Many of our fishing clients have experienced trophy sized halibut of 100, 200, and even 300 plus pounds. They now prefer to release these magnificent giants and keep only choice eaters from 40 to 80 pounds. Our techniques and our fish catching passion accompanied with our quality gear and equipment ensures your fish catching memories as well as beautiful frozen filets in your fish box.
